Take the money you'd have spent on getting the boat anchor v6 to make 400hp, trade your car in for an r/t, and dump the cash into the 5.7 and get 500hp easy. As a Camaro guy, I’m jealous. I would love to have a ProCharger on my V6 but unfortunately, ProCharger doesn’t make a kit for 2015 cars.
Depending on what kind of tuning you want for your. Dodge Challenger SXT. , you’re looking at costs anywhere from $250 to $2,000. Those are average costs for more basic modifications – if you want to seriously modify your engine or other mechanical parts, the price can shoot up to $10,000. Here’s a look at some basic tuning options and
Challenger owners across the nation have been asking themselves whether the aftermarket air intake benefits make installation worth it. In reality, there are a couple of issues with stock systems, the biggest being how efficiently (or, rather, how inefficiently) air can travel through them.
What kind of engine does a Dodge Challenger GT have? Both the Challenger GT and SXT have the 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine. It might seem sacrilegious to buy a muscle car with fewer than eight cylinders, but there is a method behind the madness. First, the 303 horsepower V6 gets better gas mileage than any V8 in Dodge’s stable.
Challenger SXT: 3.6L V6: 303 hp (225 kW) 268 lb-ft (363 Nm) Mustang GT: 5.0L V8: 480 hp (357 kW) and it’ll be up to consumers to decide if the extra cost is worth it. Gallery: 2024 Ford
The 2023 Dodge Challenger offers many redeeming features, including these four qualities: In addition to the Challenger’s retro styling, the Mopar model packs powerhouse V8 engines culminating in its supercharged 6.2L Hellcat mill. Moreover, the new Mopar muscle car is big; it has a generous back seat and a large trunk.

I'm under $100/mo full coverage for my Challenger and another car for both me and the wife. Have a few chats with a few insurance companies or use an insurance broker. Otherwise it would just be wild guessing. I have a 2011 charger r/t max and I'm paying roughly 133 a month for insurance (full coverage) in Chicago.
Engine. shopping. Looks like the heaviest tow rating with the V6 is a bit over 7,000 lbs, but I haven't seen one yet on the lot with the lower gears. Honestly, 7,000 (once again, if I could find a 3.55 truck) would be enough for the boat, sawmill and utility trailer I have towed in the last couple of years with my now deceased Avalanche.
But really, what does it cost to swap an engine from a V6 to a V8. The average price to swap a V8 engine into a vehicle with a V6 can run anywhere from $3,200 to $7,000, depending on the type of vehicle. Vehicles such as trucks and SUVs have a lot more space available to install larger engines. Cars, on the other hand, have more cramped engine
I did mine a few months ago. Also did the Modern Muscle ported intake manifold. The difference is substantially improved throttle response. My 0 to 60 times were essentially the same over an average of 6 runs before and 6 after. The horsepower to the wheels was the same with the TB and up 3 to 5 hp with both TB and ported manifold according to
The 2021 Dodge Challenger and 2021 Ford Mustang show that the fight for street supremacy continues after 50 years. Here's how they compare. 3.6-Liter V6: 2.3-liter I4: Horsepower: 303 hp
The Pentastar is a reliable engine and requires less routine maintenance than the Hemi. 0-60 is I think 6.5 seconds which is damn good for a 2 ton car and faster than some older V8's. Fuel economy is slightly better, I get around 23/31. But if you want that off the line tire smoking grunt, you don't want the V6.
2017 Dodge Challenger. Highs Classic muscle-car styling, choice of two powerful Hemi V-8s, comfortable retro interior. Lows Unenthusiastic handling, disappointing base V-6 engine, poor quality
Now if you were talking a scat to a hellcat, then maybe that’s something to mess with, but even then, the amount of work and all that for it is maybe not worth it. If this were the case, brakes and a lot of the other shit you’d have to upgrade on the v6 would be near where you need it on the hellcat. In no world would this make sense to do.
If you are considering doing a V6 to V8 swap don't hesitate, nothing against the V6 loyalist but it is completely worth it. If you have any questions about your mopar, give Ben a call at Plum Floored… the guys is awesome. He and his shop get two giant thumbs up from me! I will work to get some pictures and videos up soon
